Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, Receiving Treatment and “Excellent” Prognosis

Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Casey, who is currently the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Aging, made the announcement in December of 2020.

Casey’s office said he has been receiving treatment for the cancer and is expected to have surgery in the coming months. His team also emphasized that his prognosis is “excellent.”

Casey has served in the United States Senate since 2007 and is currently serving his third term. Some believe he has been a champion of working-class Americans, voting again and again to protect Social Security and Medicare. Others commend him as an advocate for veterans, fighting to make sure they receive the benefits they have earned.

The news of Senator Casey’s diagnosis comes as Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) has declared that she will not seek reelection in 2024. Stabenow has been a strong advocate for Michigan farmers and is currently the chairwoman of the Senate Agriculture Committee.

Updates will be available here as the story develops. We wish Senator Casey a quick recovery and anticipate learning more about his condition in the months to come.
