Legendary professional wrestler Ric Flair is returning to the ring for one more match. On Monday, the 73-year-old revealed that his farewell match will be held in his home state of Tennessee on July 31. Flair, born Richard Morgan Fliehr, said he will entertain fans at the Fairgrounds in Nashville and across the nation on Fite TV.
Flair made the announcement on Instagram, stating, “The Rumors Are True! I’m Going To Walk That Aisle, Style And Profile, One Last Time! July 31st! Nashville, Tennessee! Jim Crockett Promotions!,” adding that “I Will Prove Once Again, That To Be The Man, You’ve Got To Beat The Man!”
According to the New York Post, Flair last competed for Impact Wrestling in 2011, and he hasn’t wrestled for the WWE since 2008. He was dropped by the WWE in August 2021 and had a health scare in 2016 when he was hospitalized for about a month after suffering from renal failure.
Posts on his social media accounts show the wrestling superstar has been active since his recovery. He was recently seen exercising with wrestler Jay Lethal on Instagram, implying that he was due for a comeback.
