More than $2 million of Hunter Biden’s unpaid taxes were reportedly paid off by a top Hollywood attorney. Kevin Morris, best known for negotiating a $550 million license agreement for the South Park co-creators, has joined the president’s son’s legal and media strategy team while he awaits the conclusion of a federal probe into his finances and suspected foreign lobbying crimes.
According to the New York Post, in addition to paying Hunter Biden’s back taxes, Morris is also covering his rent and living expenses, as well as providing coaching on how to handle his art sales. Morris is known among Hunter’s friends as his “sugar brother.” Hunter also took out a loan to cover $1 million in delinquent taxes, according to the New York Times in March. He may have paid the bill to gain leniency from jurors and judges, who are more sympathetic to convicts who have paid their debts.
Morris’ office and Hunter Biden’s lawyer Christopher Clark recently confirmed that Morris is a member of Hunter’s legal team. Morris is also assisting with the development of a documentary about Hunter’s life, according to a Democratic source. Additionally, Morris is looking into how a copy of Hunter Biden’s laptop made its way into the public domain.
Hunter allegedly dropped off his laptop in April 2019 to be repaired at a shop in Delaware but forgot to pick it up when the repairs were finished. The shop’s owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, finally handed up copies of the computer to the FBI and a lawyer for former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who then sent them out to the media. Hunter claims the laptop was likely stolen or hacked.
In an April 2021 interview with CBS news Hunter stated, “Certainly, there could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me. It could be that I was hacked, it could be that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me.” However, he has not acknowledged Mac Isaac’s signed quote, which looks to be his signature that enabled the repair shop to retrieve data from the laptop and put it on his server.
