Yeti has recalled 1.9 million coolers and gear cases due to a risk of serious injury or death, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported Thursday.
According to the CPSC, the closure on the four recalled products may fail, resulting in magnet detachment. If ingested, two or more powerful magnets can attract to each other or another metal object and become lodged in the digestive tract, potentially causing infection, blood poisoning, and death.

Versions 1.0 and 2.0 of the Sidekick dry gear case, M20 soft backpack cooler, and M30 soft cooler are being recalled. The company has received 1,399 reports of degrading or failing magnet-lined closures, including reports of missing or detached magnets. No reports of magnet ingestion or injuries have been made.
The CPSC advised consumers to cease using the recalled products immediately and contact Yeti for refund information. Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central Time, consumers can reach Yeti at 833-444-3151.
Canada saw the sale of over 40,00 of the recalled items. During midday trading on Thursday, Yeti stock fell approximately 1.5%.
