Elon Musk Claims He Was ‘Banned’ from World Economic Forum

Elon Musk has been making headlines again as he announced that he’s been “banned” from the World Economic Forum (WEF). The Forum has come forward to say that no such ban exists, he was just not invited in the first place.

The Forum is an annual event that is held in Davos, Switzerland. It is attended by business executives, global leaders, and various cultural trend-setters to discuss global issues.

In response to the confusion about the invitation, the Forum clarified that Musk was last invited in 2015 but he chose not to attend. This year, he was not invited nor was he in recent years.

Musk later took to Twitter to explain his non-attendance to the event by saying that he declined the invitation because it sounded “boring af” and that he’s too busy with his upcoming trial for his 2018 tweet about taking Tesla private. Jury selection for the trial is beginning this week.

In order to attend the Forum, one must be a member of the organization, which is quite expensive. Membership costs between $130,000 to $921,000 annually depending on the level of affiliation.

In conclusion, it appears that Musk was not invited this year nor in recent years, and decided not to attend when he was last invited in 2015.
