$10,000 Offered for Info Leading to Arrests of Suspects in Goshen Massacre

Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux

Six people, including a teenage mother and her infant, were shot and killed at a home in what the sheriff called a “horrific massacre” in the small Californian town of Goshen. According to the sheriff, a cartel is to blame for the violence, and authorities are looking into which specific cartel is to blame.

A mother and her infant, who was 10 months old, were among those who reportedly died. According to the sheriff, the infant was shot in the head while his mother was attempting to flee. In response to this tragedy, a $10,000 reward has been offered for information that results in the arrest of the culprits.

“None of this was by accident,” Boudreaux alleged during a Tuesday news conference. “It was deliberate, intentional and horrific.”

There were a number of fatal shootings in rural California in 2020 and 2021 that were connected to illicit marijuana cultivation in the region, so drug-related violence is nothing new there. Even if such violence is common, it is nevertheless startling and tragic when innocent victims, like Alissa and her child, are killed.

The Goshen tragedy serves as a warning about the risk of drug- and gang-related violence in rural California. It serves as a reminder that innocent people frequently perish in the crossfire of these actions and that those responsible for these atrocities need to be held accountable.
