Pete Davidson in talks to join Jeff Bezos on Blue Origin space flight

Comedian Pete Davidson is reportedly getting close to signing a contract with Jeff Bezos to fly on a Blue Origin mission. In January, Davidson was seen at Jeff Bezos’ home in Los Angeles, where he and Kim Kardashian met the billionaire and his girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez for dinner.

According to Page Six, “Pete is excited” but they haven’t yet signed a contract. However, it appears that the deal will happen and the details are being worked out. Additionally, Page Six reports that Bezos and Davidson got along well when they met. It’s unclear when Davidson would go into space but a source close to the situation believes it will likely be later this year.

Last July, Bezos made his first trip into space on Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket. He was joined by his brother Mark, renowned aviator Wally Funk, and Oliver Daemen, an 18-year-old Dutch student. In October, he sent 90-year-old “Star Trek” icon William Shatner into space with a box of his childhood “Star Trek” memorabilia.

Last summer, Davidson’s goofy “Saturday Night Live” character, Chad returned to the show as a Mars colonist on the episode hosted by Elon Musk. In the sketch, Musk, portraying himself, rushes to mission control when a Mars journey goes wrong and it’s up to Chad to lead the crew through this crisis.

Davidson also recently made headlines by proxy when Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) released a music video featuring an animated clay likeness of Davidson being murdered.
