A 14-year-old student at Lindhurst High School in Olivehurst, California, committed herself by hanging herself. This apparently occurred an hour after she left her home. The girl’s identity remains concealed. The investigation is now underway, and Sheriff Wendell Anderson of Yuba County has confirmed that the death was a suicide.
The victim was a middle school kid, but no more details have been disclosed by authorities. The superintendent of Marysville’s public schools, Fal Asrani, expressed his dismay in a statement, stating, “Today is traumatic for the whole community of Lindhurst and the entire Yuba County.”
Classes were canceled when the body was found, and psychologists and grief counselors were sent in to help students and staff. No regular courses will meet this week on Friday.
Sheriff Anderson also mentioned that some of the students might have seen the body and requested they come forward to the authorities for assistance. The authorities are looking to track the students down to gather statements and provide them with support.
About 15,000 people in the town 40 miles from Sacramento were affected by the catastrophe. Anderson County Sheriff has made an appeal to anybody battling with thoughts of suicide: “This will undoubtedly impact our community, and I urge anyone suffering from suicidal thoughts to seek help immediately.
